Duties
- Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks.
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
- Devise and review specifications for products or processes.
- Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all times.
- Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company standards.
- Brainstorm ideas to increase productivity and performance of the production line while maintaining accuracy in quality.
- Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Create and implement changes to improve current processes and reduce costs.
- Oversee production to ensure conformity in final product processing.
- Preparing reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing data.
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
- Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems.
- Train production line staff in proper production practices and basic quality assessment.
- Monitor production and quality processes and troubleshoot any errors.
- Track, record, and maintain quality assurance data.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in food-related discipline, such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, or food industry management.
- Proficient in computer technology and systems.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a relevant field (food-related discipline, such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, or food industry management)
- Have at least one of the ISO lead audit certifications.
- Strong experience in using the statistical modelling applications; statistical/data mining techniques
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system.
- Detail-oriented.
- Leadership and management skills
- Change management skills.
- Conflicts handling and resolutions skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Writing documentation, giving presentations and teaching workshops.
- Ability to develop and apply business processes and map to business and functional requirements
- Strong analytical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
