Job Description

Department/Section: Sales sector
Job Title: Retail Team Leader
Reports to: Regional Manager

Job Purpose:

Manage the end-to-end retail Retail seals activities of selling; collection and customer care in compliance with Zain retail strategy, sales standards and sales targets.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:

Retail Team leader responsibility
· Responsible for coordination and supervision of retail shop activities.
· Ensure that retail sales targets are met.
· Ensure that high customer satisfaction and loyalty is achieved
· Act as point of contact between retail shops and the different departments within the company.
· Develop the regional potential through identification of sales and project opportunities.
· Represent the regional shops in management meetings, communicate outcome of meetings and messages from management to employees in the respective shops.
· Monitor overall financial performance and operational efficiency.
· Create awareness of Zain products and services in community; proactively work on marketing and sales plans in alignment with the sales channels.
· Report sales performance, progress and issues.
· Continuously improve on operations and employees' performance in order to meet and exceed targets and objectives.
· Ensure the product and service knowledge of all staff meet standards.
· Forecast and manage staffing requirements through schedules to meet customer service levels.
· Implement and follow all processes, policies and procedures for shops.
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies & regulatory requirements on Information Security.

Sales – measured sales performance of store Vs targets
Effectiveness of delivering to Sales Profitability
Product & service knowledge – measured staff knowledge of product & service and process
Effectiveness of issue resolution/decision making/change control and risk management
Delivery of outcomes to agreed quality standards and deadlines
Adaptability of work plans/resources in response to change
Process Adherence – measured transaction, cash reconciliation and stock discrepancies.
Store Appearance – measured through floor walk checklist


Reports to Regional Manager
Responsible for shop management
Responsible for management of third party / Franchisee
Direct management of 3 sales representatives.

What Do You Need to Qualify


Educated to university degree
Zain Telecommunications background desirable
Relevant Professional Business qualification is mandatory
Minimum 5 years previous experience of an administrative role in a private sector organisation is mandatory
Ability to communicate in Arabic and English is mandatory


Broad understanding of all stages of the Zain Telecoms. Business process of the daily sales procedures and issues complaints.
Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain business strategy, goals and competitive environment
Understanding of budgetary and resource management and control policies and processes
Good understanding of best practice Change Management processes and methodologies
Understanding of the relevant regulatory, legal and other contextual factors impacting on the successful management of projects within the Sudan market


Must have a strong communication skills.
Must have strong interpersonal abilities and should like to work with many different people
Leadership/management skills and experience in a pressurised working environment with the ability to resolve unexpected conflicting demands in a rapidly changing environment
Conflict handling and resolution skills
Change management.
Excellent communication and the ability to interact effectively with management and employees
Strong knowledge of issue management and shop management
Highly developed communication and reporting skills (verbal and written)
