Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
Main purpose of job:
Working as part of the Finance Team, to provide professional, accurate and timely cashier duties in support of over 200 British Embassy staff and their local and international suppliers.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
80%
Payment of bills; recording and accounting for receipts and maintenance of records of all transactions on excel spreadsheets.
Daily reconciliation of cash and receipt boxes and recording this on excel spreadsheet.
Depositing money and cheques in the bank regularly and maintain good relationship with bank staff.
Checking, processing and payment of personal staff expenditure claims.
Processing payroll, cash advances, staff claims, and daily entry of receipts including cash, debit memos, advances and bank transfers.
Daily checks and reconciliation of cash boxes and unbanked receipts and weekly bank reconciliation checks.
Maintenance of the payment sequence and accounts department filing system and file store.
Monitoring and reporting daily exchange rates from the Bank.

Liaising with staff and suppliers in a professional and with a customer care focus.
Contribute to accurate and timely month end closure procedures.
Providing assistance to other members of the Finance Team as and when directed.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Qualifications and experience in accounting.
Customer focused, good numeracy and IT skills (Excel and Word)
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
2 years’ experience in accounts.
Previous employment with an international organisation.
