Department/Section: Technology CT Planning & Deployment
Job Title: IP Infrastructure Planning & Deployment Specialist
Reports to: IP Infrastructure Planning & Deployment Team LeaderJob Purpose:

Manage the design, deployment and configuration of technology infrastructure networks elements in alignment to the business demand, technology architecture and roadmaps
Key Tasks/Accountabilities

Manage the planning, deployment and configuration of IP transport infra elements, including; data networks, DC networks, connectivity for BSS / OSS solutions, corporate offices/shops, IP security, core and edge IP/MPLS backbone (Edge, Core IP equipment) and IGWs
Develop IP transport plans based on business forecasts and scope deployment projects (produce PIP)
Follow up on IP and IGW architecture design and technology evolution and assess architectural feasibility of IP requirements
Participate in the technology business planning cycle through identification of annual project plans and cost estimates
Evaluate business requests, scope projects (if change is not configuration/feature related) and maintain project pipeline
Participate in demand planning and management committee for feedback on development and project prioritization
Manage the deployment life cycle, manage infrastructure deployment through vendors (in case of out-tasking/outsourcing), assess vendor performance and provide regular reports and feedback to program management governance (PMO) and vendor mgmt.
Lead PAT (platform acceptance tests) and ensure smooth handover to operations
Perform capacity upgrades in line with service capacity mgmt. guidelines and current cap. status
Provide 3rd level support in coordination with vendors as needed
Design & implement testing systems that mirror the live conditions and IP node specific NMS SolarWinds
Design and implement security requirement for broadband technology infrastructure (LTE, IMS, NGN, etc.); Ensure an integrated IP transport design across tech.
Liaise with international carriers and OLOs on setting up new interconnections
Participate in the development of RFP scopes/specifications/response assessment in alignment with vendor management
Design and implement strategic projects (part of the technology roadmap)




What Do You Need to Qualify

Qualifications/Experience:


BSC in Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or Computer science.
Previous experience of (2 years minimum) in relevant role.
In-depth knowledge and experience of IT telecom applications.
Excellent understanding of business processes and business rules.
Highly developed communication and reporting skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
Strong knowledge in managing, dealing with IT infrastructure elements like storage, backup, operating systems, virtualization, etc.
Knowledge


Design and Deployment of IP networks and security low level and high level designs
IP systems installation, upgrade and configuration (definition of cards/modules, deployment and application of node configuration scripts)
Knowledge of systems/ security tech and protocols (e.g. VOIP, Firewalls, Authentication)
Good Understanding for OS (Win & Unix/Linux) features and Virtualization concepts.
IP Project delivery management.
Industry certificates (e.g. CCIE, CISSP, HCIE etc.). Preferable
Broad understanding of the Mobile Telecommunication industry, Local and international market conditions, regional political climate and communications regulatory policies.
In-depth knowledge of projects strategies and implementation.
Good understanding of best practice in Change Management processes and methodologies.
Understanding of GSM mobile operations, products and services
