Job Purpose:

The Market Research Team Leader is responsible for generating consumer & retail analytical information to assist management in planning, developing and taking sound decisions related to the business objectives of the company.

As well designing surveys to convey consumer preferences versus current or future company products.

Main Responsibilities:

Understand business objectives and design surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences.
Collect data on consumers, retail, market place and consolidate information into actionable reports and presentations.
Design questionnaires and advise on methodology of data collection and monitor its progress.
Manage the data collection team / internal surveyors and data input assistants.
Manage focus groups, carrying out interviews and conducting surveys.
Evaluate program methodology and key data to ensure that data on the releases are accurate and the angle of the release is correct.
Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text and presenting results.
Advise management on new innovations in the area of market research, and create new ways to meet the needs of a changing marketplace.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify opportunities for product expansion.
Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation in collaboration with the trade marketing & sales teams.
Develop & closely monitor research budget and abide by the internal financial process.
Take accountability and ownership of any other tasks or projects assigned.

Working Relationships:Internal: trade marketing, brand & communication teams, retail & upcountry sales, HR & Strategy departments
External: local & international research agencies.


Qualifications & Skills:BA in Business Administration (related fields) or BS in Statics.
4-5 years of proven market research experience.
Ability to interpret large amount of data.
Strong analytical & critical thinking.
Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, field surveys etc).
Food & beverage market awareness.
Ability to plan, monitor & control research budget.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation skills
Good management skills.
High level of computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, SPSS or similar software etc).
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to travel to regions within Sudan.
Fluent in Arabic & English.
