Main Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to gather and analyze data on competitors, market trends, and customer behavior to provide actionable insights. This role supports strategic planning and decision making, helping the organization anticipate market shifts and maintain a competitive edge. By transforming data into strategic recommendations, the agent enhances the company’s ability to optimize offerings and stay ahead in the market.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  1. Conduct competition market research to gather data on pricing structures, availability of core services and products, and current promotional offers.
  2. Collect and verify demographic, socioeconomic, and competitive intelligence in assigned territories to ensure accurate and comprehensive data.
  3. Utilize GIS mobile applications to record competitors’ patterns, site accessibility, and infrastructure details, providing detailed geographic insights.
  4. Conduct field surveys to capture geographic coordinates, competition, and attribute data, ensuring precise and actionable information.
  5. Monitor competitors’ upselling and cross-selling techniques to identify effective strategies and potential areas for improvement.
  6. Perform mystery shopping across different competitors to evaluate their customer service and sales tactics, providing insights into strategic adjustments.
  7. Track Below-the-Line (BTL) campaigns through SMS communications, analyzing offers, delivery times, and frequency to assess competitors’ marketing effectiveness.
  8. Support the team with competitor intelligence and geographic analysis as needed, responding to adhoc requests with timely and relevant information.
  9. Assist in catchment area assessments, competitor site mapping, and population distribution analysis to inform strategic planning and market positioning.
  10. Contribute to the Market Research department by undertaking occasional tasks that support overall research objectives and project goals.

  • Understanding of Spatial Data Formats: Knowledgeable in GIS and spatial data.
  • Survey and Interview Implementation: Experienced in conducting surveys and interviews.
  • Competitive Analysis: Expertise in evaluating competitors’ strategies and market positions.
  • Statistical Analysis: Capable of applying statistical techniques to analyze and interpret data  effectively.

Qualifications:

Education 

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Social Sciences, GIS, Survivor, or any related field.

Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in market research or competitive intelligence.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suites is an advantage.

Language 

Fluent in English and Arabic (Written & Spoken).
