ACTED in Sudan
In response to the ongoing crisis in Sudan, ACTED is scaling up its humanitarian operations. The organization is currently recruiting a Project Development Officer (PDO) to join its team in Port Sudan.
Role: Project Development Officer
The Project Development Officer supports ACTED’s programs through proposal writing, donor engagement, grant management, and internal coordination. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are well-designed, properly reported, and effectively communicated to partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising

Conduct context and stakeholder analysis.

Build and maintain donor relationships.

Lead proposal development processes.
2. Grant Management

Ensure contract compliance and reporting accuracy.

Oversee donor reporting and audits.

Support relationships with implementing partners.
3. Internal Coordination
-
Coordinate with program, finance, logistics, and security teams.

Ensure strong communication across departments.

Maintain project files and documentation.
4. External Communication

Contribute to ACTED’s visibility through content and reporting.

Support strategic messaging and fundraising materials.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in International Relations, Development, Political Science, or a related field.

1–2 years of relevant experience in project development or grants management.

Strong writing and communication skills.

Familiarity with donor systems and humanitarian architecture.

Ability to work under pressure in multicultural teams.

Highly organized, adaptable, and collaborative.
Terms and Benefits

Salary: €1,800–2,000/month (before tax), depending on experience.

Monthly living allowance: $300.
-
Accommodation and meals provided in ACTED guesthouse.

Flight tickets (every 6 months) and visa costs covered.

Repatriation, life, health, and pension insurance (for EU citizens).

R&R every 3 months (flights up to $500 + $200 allowance).

Paid annual leave: 25 to 43 days/year.
