JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the LFS Coordinator position is day-to-day implementation and supervision of the LFS Projects in White Nile. The post holder will ensure all activities are implemented in a timely manner and with high quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generic responsibilities
Line management of project staff
Contribute to the development of technical standard operating procedures (SOPs) / guidelines, and Macro log frame (MLF)
Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, LFS tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
Contribute to the development of funding proposals, project budgets, and donor reports
Coordinate and manage LFS project implementation (activities, budget, and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements.
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local and national stakeholders and represent NRC in relevant forums/clusters/working groups.
Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Promote the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs)/returnees/refugees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
Projects Implementation
Supervise the implementation of all LFS activities in White Nile (and other states if assigned) in consultation with the LFS project Manager.
Develop timely and detailed monthly implementation plans for LFS activities in close coordination with the LFS team in White Nile.
Review achievements and constraints on a weekly basis and provide feedback accordingly.
Daily guidance of the LFS field staff ensuring that project implementation is in line with NRC technical guidelines, and donor regulations and follows NRC’s program quality standards.
Liaise on a regular basis with the support department (finance, logistics, HR, and administration) to guarantee the smooth running of LFS activities that include movement planning, internal requests, payments, HR, etc.
Ensure that the security plan and procedure are adhered to in all operations, including staff movements, etc.
Consolidate weekly and monthly activity progress reports and participate in drafting of donor reports.
Follow up on NRC’s LFS activities in White Nile implemented by local partners, government departments, and service providers.
Identify training needs of LFS teams, partners, and community committees and organize/facilitate training events as needed.
Identify capacity development needs for supervised staff and communicate with the LFS project Manager.
Assist with the training of the LFS teams to ensure they have a solid understanding of the project's technical design, implementation approaches, NRC & donor policies, and tools, including M&E tools.
Lead on stakeholder (i.e., local authorities, INGOs, NGOs, and UN agencies) sensitization and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders in the respective geographic areas.
Ensure adequate and safe records of all project deliveries (cash, vouchers, in-kind, etc.) including but not limited to beneficiary database, receipt, storage, dispatch, and distributions.
Represent NRC at local level stakeholders and participate in meetings called by local representatives and/or other partners operating in the area.
Monitoring and Evaluation
In close coordination with MEL team, ensure all monitoring and evaluating activities are carried out on time, and lessons learned are shared and capitalized on.
In collaboration with MEL, ensure that all LFS projects are monitored regularly, and data are collected on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Regularly visit the project sites to ensure that the implementation of activities is closely monitored and field teams are appropriately supported.
Capacity building
In consolation with LFS PM, identify learning and training opportunities for LFS staff and partners and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.
Monitor learning and development of the staff and provide appropriate technical guidelines and materials to NRC and partner’s staff.
Representation, coordination, and Advocacy:
Responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative and effective partnerships with NGOs/CBOs and government partners.
Ensure effective stakeholder participation throughout the project implementation.
In collaboration with senior program staff, assist in advocacy activities that target decision-makers at all levels.
In collaboration with the LFS PM, feed in learning, experiences, and evidence to relevant global advocacy objectives.

Project planning: LFS Specialist, LFS, and area team
Area operations: Area Manager and Field office coordinators and Support Coordinators and managers
Staff capacity building: LFS Specialist and LFS PM, HR Development Officer
Implementation: Project manager, Area Programme Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional competencies
These are skills, knowledge, and experience that are important for effective performance.
Generic professional competencies for this position:
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development studies, Rural Development, Livelihoods, Economics, agriculture, and/or related disciplines.
Minimum 3 years of experience working as a project coordinator, team leader, or equivalent in a humanitarian setting managing Livelihoods programming.
Experience in livelihood assessments, both field data collection and analysis.
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
Strong ability to work with diverse groups/individuals – ranging from local partners, local authorities, the humanitarian community, and the private sector. Proven ability in staff, donor contract & budget management
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal; as well as excellent report-writing skills
Mixed experience working in the humanitarian and development Sector is an asset.
Experience in working through partners and delivering capacity building is an asset.
